Just wondering... I committed to Alpha Gamma Rho at Oklahoma State next year and was interested in maybe hearing some of your guys' experiences if you do participate in that type of stuff.

Roommate was in Alpha Tao Omega. So was every other male near me in the dorms. Mostly was stupid partying bullshit but idk you might be into that. I played dad for most of the year.

Yeah, it's worse than what you see in the movies. At least at big schools it is..It's the worst/best experience you will ever have if that makes any sense. 

 

No one can really explain exactly what goes on because different schools and chapters have different traditions. You will just have to experience it for yourself and figure out if it's the thing for you.

It's actually cheaper to live in house at Oklahoma State than it is in some dorms / suites. 

 

I'm saving $1500 a year by living in house rather than the original 1 bed / 1 bath suite I had reserved.

Pretty much this ^. Ok St. will have enough parties going on that you will probably regret paying $400-$1200+ a semester for a couple of packs of natty every weekend...

They are allowing you to live in the fraternity house before you pledge? Also, make sure you actually inspect the house before you sign a lease. Couple buddies of mine signed their lease in the summer last year and the rooms in the house ended up being filled with black mold. Fraternity houses are usually cheaper for a reason..

Yeah they let you live in house first year. 

 

They just built a $10 million dollar new house last year and I've already been in and got a tour. It's definitely one of the nicest houses on campus. I'm not really worried about it.

Schools in the south seem like they're a lot bigger on greek life than in the north where I'm at.

Yeah it is a lot bigger in the south. I'm going to be an Animal Science major focusing on Pre-Veterinary courses so I wouldn't really call it easy. One of the best things about AGR is that it has a focus in Agricultural majors such as mine, and there will most likely be a good amount of people like me in the house. 

 

Should be interesting.
