Chuckle
Having prayer makes you much weaker for your combat level than having it... (only against people your own level) Not having prayer means You can pk with range to melle without prayer switches you can PK in high risk worlds and have a big advantage on other players you can have much higher stats for you cb level. If you stay 1 prayer you lose 15% of your offensive. but you gain a much stronger defense (even on pures) and much more efficient pk stance Explained Below i have show the difference in HP with and without prayer 31 prayer levels || 15 HP levels 43 prayer || 21 HP levels Example of a simple build (level 49 combat) Which would you rather... way high HP and less chance of getting dropped... or prayer Edited June 10, 2015 by chuckle00
Varc
I've never really had accounts with high pray levels i tend to be either 1 or 16, like you said for the extra hp levels.

Alot of rs pking is just going for high specs, so surely higher HP would be much better? Ill make a pk video when i get the stats. =]
babbler
I'm sorry but you haven't really done that much calculation here. When you do you will find out there isn't a lot of difference in it. It just depends on how much training you're prepared to do. Whilst not having prayer does have a slight advantage in terms of damage, you lose protect item which a lot of people rely on. You have 3 scenarios you have to take into account: - Having Prayer - Having Hitpoints - Having Damage To illustrate: 63 combat: 50 atk 76 str 31 pray 84 range 76 hp Hits 30 with maul, can protect item. 63 combat: 50 atk 84 str 1 pray 89 range 80 hp Hits 30 with maul, cant protect item, takes longer to train, 63 combat: 50 atk 87 str 1 pray 91 range 76 hp Hits 31 with maul, can't protect item, takes longer to train. Obviously it depends on your attitude to pking, and what you wan't from your account. My choice is the third option - I think having enough HP is important up to a point but after that becomes a non-issue (just eat at the same HP they do)
Fruity
I never really use prayer while pking so low pray is good aha

I do get your point about having really high HP... like 50 vs 65 is a massive difference but 80 vs 95 wouldnt really matter all that much
babbler
The issue comes later on with equipment, a 31 prayer pure can use an AGS whereas a 1 prayer pure cannot. It is down to preference. In the example above, 31 prayer levels is equal to just 4hp & 5 range levels - For some people that would be worth it, for others it wouldn't.
