Decrease the size of a pdf

i really need to upload a pdf for my University's application but their system doesnt allow to upload more than 5127 kb. My pdf is around 8000 kb. is there a way i can make it 5000?

would help a lot if somebody could help. thanks

yea its ridiculous. Especially when they require a lot of documents and you have to compress all of them. Annoying AF
