okay so there is a meme Pepe the Frog and then someone posted on ebay a collection of "1200 rare pepes" for like $10,000. 

 

So then people just started making jokes about a hypothetical Pepe the Frog market. 

 

This led to green texts such as http://i.imgur.com/76Eq24t.png and ultimately to my post on the osbot forums.
