ok so i bought creative fatality hs800's to find out when i plug it into the pic (3.5mm) jack. the mic records desktop sounds but not my voice? can someone help?

You need to change it in the control panel -> sounds and then it should show up if you right click it will say default microphone or something like that.

Are you using a program to record, if so it could be in the program settings. Or in your computer settings under the control pannel.
