You don't need mirror mode at all, it's entirely optional. some people believe it helps reduce your chances of a ban, so it's up to you whether you use it or not :)

    Unfortunately only the cooking process (cooking on range/fire). I plan to do a re-write at some point in the nearishmaybe future though, and might introduce this as a feature!
