Running Cross Country HELP!

Featured Replies

Well since im enlisting in the Marine Corps(Dream Job) Making a career out of it. I went up to meps and got my MOS as RECON Which is what ive always wanted and it is also erfered to as Special Forces. So im taking up cross country. Need all the info that will help me throughout the sesaon! Im currently around 175 pounds and 6 foot tall. Im a Lacrosse player and im pretty conditioned. So please give me all the input you can on Cross Country! I have my first 5k run! Its not for the team though season doesnt start till august :p

Run three miles a day at a decent pace (break on weekends), and make sure to time yourself so that you match or beat your time from the previous day.

Goodluck!

It's all in your breathing. Don't think of anything but your breathing. Your legs don't give a shit as long as there is oxygen getting to them.

I like to run and personally I run barefoot. Don't drink water before running, it will give you cramps. Remember to stretch well, if you know how to do "A" strides and "B" strides, do those after running (however long you run). Those will help you a shit ton if you do them right.

Drink afterwards, and lastly, the most important thing to avoid: DO NOT SIT DOWN AFTER RUNNING. Walk it off. This is extremely important and most people mess it up.

good luck but if u need too practice running run with a tire or on the beach!@
