errpr launching OSbot!

Featured Replies

i just downloaded the new client and a error came up saying "there was an error launching OSbot! please verify that your boot options are valid!"

how do i fix this ?

Edited by itzmebaby

I've never seen this issue so all I can really suggest is some of the standard fixes, try to delete your OSBot folder at C:\Users\yourusername\OSBot and then redownload the client.

You could also try  C:\Users\yourusername\OSBot\data and then delete the file local.dat.

I'm also assuming that you don't have Java 8. If neither of these work, feel free to PM me and I could have another look to see if I could find the solution. Alternatively another member of the community or a mod might be able to help.

Hmmmmmm, you could try the following but i'm not sure I've encountered the error before:

  • Rename OSbot client to osbot.jar
  • Place on Desktop
  • Open CMD
  • Type "cd Desktop" and hit enter
  • You should now be in the Desktop directory, type "java -jar osbot.jar" and hit enter
  • Wait a few seconds and the launcher should appear, check "Debug mode" if it does
  • If there are any errors it will be displayed in the CMD window which you will need to post for me

If this doesn't work for you then let me know and I'll try fish around for a solution.

wont let me use screen shot for some reason but its coming up as "java-jar osbot.jar is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file"

and i have tryed the debug mode thing on launcher and same thing comes up

Im getting the same thing, tried everything still havent been able to fix it

Are you guys sure you don't have java 8 installed? Or any other versions of java except java 7 update 55/60?

Edit: I managed to replicate the issue to the T, the message displayed has the OSBot look and feel meaning it does attempt to open the client. I then decided to check my AntiVirus and add OSBot to the trusted file list and exceptions to outgoing connection blocks and it now runs fine.

tl;dr: Check your antivirus, add OSBot  client to the "Trusted files" list or "Exclusions" list for your behaviour blockers

i have all latest java 7.60 and 8 and java jdk

If you tried the anti virus issue then having Java 8 would be your issue, uninstall all Java 8 related things ^_^

tryed that to. this has never happened to me before and i havent downloaded any thing different

Not too sure what it could be then, I replicated the issue, uninstalled Java 8 and then my antivirus blocked the connection to added it to the safe list and it worked. Another user in the chat tried this and worked for him too.

Maybe someone else could share some insight on this ^_^
