OSBot - Why is my GPU being used?

Featured Replies

Both of my graphics cards have noisy capacitors which indicate the card is under load (power distribution to 2x300w cards lel) - I started the osbot client and heard one of the cards fire up. Strange.

Would you care to explain?

I'm not pointing fingers, but GPU usage points to bitcoin mining. As of today, this is extremely inefficient and a waste of electricity. pls stop increasing my power bill.

Good thing I donated 500 dollars to them.

So they can use my laptop to mine bitcoins.

cool.

Ask yourself, does the game have graphics?  Answer: Yes

What further explanation do you need? tongue.png

OSB is a graphical user interface, hence it uses graphic processing power. When you have a graphics card installed, your integrated graphics is useless, and your card will take over. Thus your graphics card is doing all of the work. This isn't a surprise that your card usage is going up.

A lot more. If RS used opengl/directx, maybe the graphics card will be used. But it doesn't. The graphics calculations are done with CPU cycles.

I have a graphics card in my desktop and it's never went above 10% load while botting. I'd test the new client, except I'm at home right now and my desktop is in my dorm.

Laz, explain please.

If a graphics card is installed, it will take over. You cant use a graphics card and integrated graphics in tandem, so the card will be doing all of the work. Correct me if I am wrong. :P

I was under the impression that the way rs07 was coded didn't use the graphics card, not in software mode, which is what's being used.

So... this is really really odd.

Ah yea, I misunderstood the post I think. You are right, rs07 should use virtually no gpu. The gui for osb 2 could be eating up some gpu. That is all that I can think of.

Hell, if we could use our graphics cards to render 07, we'd be able to run far, FAR more bots than we do now.

Yeah, the GUI on idle needs to use 50% of one of my 7970's? yeah right. Battlefield 4 doesn't even use 50% of my GPU

What is really concerning me is how large of a botnet we're currently part of. Especially if this bitcoin shit is going down.

Yeah, this is something hard to just hand wave away.

Unless Laz put some sort of infinite loop or the like in somewhere...

Hell, if this is what it looks like, at least optimize it to use both of my cards instead of one.

I get 57% on my gtx 670. Mining confirmed.

Haha, make it lag all the graphics. And Laz, you better share some of those bitcoins :P

Haha we'll see what Laz says tomorrow. I doubt it's actually bitcoin mining though
