RoomScape Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It currently has a date restriction (?) and I think it should be increased. Whenever I search something, it won't go past one month in the search. Can this limitation be removed/extended greatly?
Arctic Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I'd say it wouldn't. Puts more information to store on the database. If you want to look for a certain thread you can go to the place it would be found and refine the search to threads you created, threads you replied in, and a few more things.

Idk where it is, that's why I search for it. If I knew where everything was then the search bar would be of no use to me.

RoomScape Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 What's the thread about? Not now, but when I search for stuff in the past it only goes back a couple of pages at most which gets amnoying.
RoomScape Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 Google usually works. I don't find it as useful as the search bar.
Master Chief Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 It would be nice indeed. Like arctic said, you can just use google though

Master Chief Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Contrary to popular belief, google isn't very efficient. i think it is, I use it any time I come across an error thread on the site and will usually find a sufficient answer

Hush Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Search through the site is more efficient than searching through google. From what I've done, anyway. I agree that the search bar through the site IS more efficient than google, but when it doubt, google it out. Requires less to be stored on database which, IMO, is reason enough not to extend it. You can always bookmark threads or post on them with useful content and then refine your search into specific categories that way.
