The trick with investing is keeping on top of business news, i'd recommend reading 'The economist' - Their weekly business section keeps you up to date, and from there you can make your own choices for investment.

Yes, the trick is to diversify your investments.

Easier said than done considering each trade will cost me an extra $10-$20, and I would have to find something worth it in the long run.
