Implement Premium Script Requirements

Featured Replies

Person X takes test, doesn't know how, asks person Y (who is quite smart) for all the solutions. Person X gets approved.

I can't think of a good way to approve scripts except by looking at each one thoroughly upon submission.

Read below.

I am not part of the other sites, so I am not as aware of what they do as you are.

I guess my main concerns for this idea are...

1. Will the scripters who have been approved really help out since they are not getting paid like @Alek is?

2. Will the scrtipters be fair and not disapprove of this because of competition?

3. Will the scripters that have their scripts up for approval be willing to let the other scripters see their code?

If I misunderstood your idea, my bad.

The implementation is obviously up to @Alek, but I would assume the application for being able to put premium scripts in the store would be the equivalent of what our old OSD application was.

Here's an idea: have scholars or some other knowledgable rank judge whether or not they believed the person is suitable or not.

I think the application should consist of 2 parts:

1) A review of your code.

2) A quick test (Taken live in front of the test admins so you can't cheat)

Number 2 is a bit awkward...

how so?  Are you too shy to talk to people that are interested in the same things as you? (Botting and programming)

No not at all.

Awkward in the following ways:

  1. How about people that don't speak English very well?
  2. How about people who wish to remain visually anonymous (assuming these interviews are video-based, which they should be to avoid cheating).
  3. Time zones.

1) Idk on that one, but i'm sure there are some devs here that speak other languages. Maybe they could help out.

2) I don't think you'd have to go on camera... I mean if you're being asked questions in real-time it's hard to cheat because the questions that would be asked should be very specific, and therefore hard to google an answer quickly.

3) OSBot never sleeps man.

2. Google isn't the only way to cheat, you could find a way so that the audio or video stream is immediately forwarded to someone else who could reply very quickly in a chat for example and all you'd have to do is read that answer from the chat, I take back what I said about video being cheating-proof, guess I just proved the contrary ><

You're right, it's not fool-proof. But if someone's going to go to those lengths to cheat I don't think there's any system that would stop them. I still think a live interview would be great.
