Help with this possible craigslist scam and how paypal works

Featured Replies

So basically, I'm selling my Alienware laptop on Craigslist and this guy emails me and tells me that basically, he'll send me money on paypal and then he'll have his mover come pick up the laptop physically so I don't have to ship it to him. Is this a scam? or could this work out. What I'm basically worried about is, so what happens if he pays me this money for the laptop and then charges back on paypal? How could I get out of this? and also a question about paypal itself, if he sends me the money , lets say $800 , and then I transfer all to my bank account, and he charges back does it take money out of my bank account? i dont understand what that stuff.

It is a scam. Do not do it. I would say... 100% of thing involving paypal through craigslist are a scam.

if they want to pay with a bankers check its most likely a scam, if they want to send someone to come and get it before they pay you, its a scam, if they want to mail you a check and then come and get it, its a scam, if they want to money order you and then come and get it, it could be real, as long as you get the money first lol, if they try to do anything other than pay you cash in person, its most likely a scam. there's tons of those that happen to people with cars. its sad.

That thing on craigslist is a scammer, thats why you don't post your email straight, you make it like ex a m pl....e@hot    male . com and tell them to remove the dots etc.

don't even respond they will spam your inbox for a year.

Yes, I tried selling a few things on craigslist, car etc. It worked, but i had to disguise my email/phone.
