Start getting big? (muscle)

So im currently 16 and at school I am not exactly the 'biggest' im considered the lanky/skinny one. I was wondering what is a good way to start building my arms, like what weight to start off with (kinda hoping to do it at home instead of a gym, but either is good).

Well, unless you have weights you can't do a great amount of stuff

Push ups/pull ups + putting some weight on and eating lots of protein would do something

Only at home advice I can give :P

3 sets of 8 heaviest you can go if that helps at all.

A weight you can lift? We can't tell you m8.

Seems like you just want bigger arms, so for me:

Worked like a charm.

By the way, if you don't have proper weights, there a re still plenty of other things you can lift (bottles of water for example)

what i meant by at home was i would buy weights, just cheaper than going to a gym ahah

thanks! :)

First things first, we have to eliminate your attitude of just wanting to build your arms. Trust me, you'll look like a retard with big arms but a lanky chest, back, and legs.

There are a lot of beginner lifting programs which should bring you results in 12 weeks time. I suggest you create an account on bodybuilding.com forums, lots of knowledge you can gain from the veterans.

I also can't stress how much you need to take in more calories than you're burning. Training is the easy part of building muscle, trust me.

Also, as a beginner you will gain a lot of wait relatively faster than a person whos been lifting for lets say a year or two. This will slow down after about 3 months.

Good luck, and remember, diet and rest is just as, or even more important than the training.

Buy a gym membership and follow this gym schedule

Monday - Biceps, chest

Thursday - Biceps, chest

Wednesday - Biceps, chest

Thursday - rest

Friday - Biceps, Abs

This ^

The most important thing is to listen to your body. At our age over training is practically nonexistent and the only people you'll hear it from are people trying to look for an excuse not to workout. Just go to the gym, lift until you literally can't take it anymore, consume a lot of protein, and repeat. It's really not to complicated.

I would recommend getting into HIIT/AMRAP style workouts as building muscle should not only make you look good but also help you with your day to day activities. Watch the below video on Crossfit, you might find these workout styles very interesting:

Just hit up the gym atleast 3-4 times a week.

Train muscles in groups.

Eat a lot, use protein and creatine

Drink a lot of water A LOT LIKE 3 FUCKING LITERS A DAY LOT

Then give it some time and you should see results within 3 months!

1. If you genetics sucks you are going to have a harder time building, no problems tho.
2. Train > Eat > Sleep > Build, might sound sketchy but that is the forumla.
3. Consider supplementing with Creatine, you'll build quicker than you thought was possible.
4. Dont skip leg day, joking of course, legs won't get you girls so never do legs. (Do legs)

6-8 meals a day protein eggwhite drink protein shakes and using pre workout will help
