Lol @ "a few years".

Also, not everyone wants to be stuck in the same place for the rest of their lives (or until they move to a retirement place).

It isn't always better owning, it's a matter of preference and even from an economical point of view your statement isn't always true (if you are a homeowner and your house burns down for example).

hmmm well it makes sense tbh, renting is basically like burning cash. You pay monthly and every month that money is gone, unlike if you buy a house, that money is spent on a solid piece of property that can be later sold, if you get my point.

And the part about your house burning down, man if the house you're renting burns down and its caused by you, guess whos gotta pay for the damages?

Reselling your property, in most cases, is like burning cash as well unless you got a good deal when you got your loan and/or have experience flipping houses and/or you get extremely lucky with the market.

Also, if you are a renter and your place burns down your renter's insurance will pay. It will not cover all the loses of the owner but that's not the renter's problem. In most cases you are better off being a renter rather then a homeowner when your place burns down.

That being said, if you don't mind living in the same place for the rest of your live and you are aware that fire is dangerous, then buying a house is indeed the best option.

Yes, a few years.

And it's called homeowners insurance for a reason... Don't bring up ignorant people problems, they're always stupid and unavoidable.

As you might have noticed, I've been inactive the last 4-5 days. I have been going through a move and working 12 hour shifts at my job. I just bought a house and have been moving just got my internet hooked up today. I still have a lot of unpacking to do and setting up. I should be done by tonight or early tomorrow.

I didn't even notice.

Damn... 12 hours... when I hear long hours like that, I assume it is a terrible job, but since you are buying a house, it can't be that bad.
