Catastrophe's 'How To' Notepads

Featured Replies

A few times I've been asked to share these so I've decided I will for the good of the people.

Over the months I've created a few notepads that usually solve certain errors or teach people how to do things on the website.

Please feel free to make use of these around the forums or in the chatbox; if and when I'm absent from the scene.

P.S. Even if I am there, feel free to use them ^^

Adding & Downloading Scripts

Complete guide to Downloading the Client and adding scripts here;

If you want to add a local script, find one you like from; http://osbot.org/forum/forum/10-local-scripts/
And follow the tutorial on how to add them!
For scripts from the store or the free script repository, no download is required, once you click the 'add' button, they're instantaneously added to your account and available for usage once you have successfully logged into the client

Finding your scripts folder and adding local scripts

Where to find Scripts (local);

C: > Users > Your User > OSbot > Scripts.

Or

Or use the 'Start button' and search for OSbot, then double click the scripts folder.

The fix for when one cannot save an account to the client

How to fix not being able to save accounts & 'Error Loading Settings'

Delete the 'local.dat' file located in your OSbot folder under data.
To find your OSbot folder;

C: > Users > Your User > OSbot

OR

Or use the 'Start button' and search for OSbot

Usually fixes the 'Loading Remote Scripts' error (Note: JDK doesn't necessarily do anything, but it may help)

Try downloading these versions of JRE & JDK;

If the problem still persists try deleting all your scripts and adding them one at a time until it loads.
If you still have problems, delete your OSbot folder and client and redownload

Awaiting User Input & Failed to log in

http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp  <----- Should NOT be used currently, because OSbot is not compatible with Java 8.

Will usually fix either of these.
If it doesn't then a Super moderator or Administrator will have to manually fix the problem.

        Other useful things

NOTE: If you're going to use the links, make sure to right click them and select 'Copy Link Address' otherwise it will just copy the text, which will not work since the URL has been shortened.

I hope this helps!  Especially those of who you like myself, answer the same questions and try to fix the same bugs multiple times a day biggrin.png

Yours Sincerely

You input the details and then click save.

If it doesn't let you still.

That's very very strange, you're the first person to still not be able to save accounts.

What exactly happens when you try? I assume once you click save nothing happens or?

Perhaps when you reload the client your data is no longer stored?

Also before you're trying to save the account, you are clicking on 1XJdlP6.png beforehand aren't you?

Otherwise it will be trying to sava the data into a non-existent entity.
