Where do your moral values come from

From my parents or as the dictionary states 'a code of conduct put forward by a society or group'. Frankly Darwins theory of evolution is far more convincing.

Honestly life is shitty not believing in a higher power, so yes.

Lol this is the saddest thing I've read today. You feel you need to believe in something to have a happy life? That's exactly how religion was created. Through fear that if you don't believe in a higher power your life is nothing! Lol.

This is my favorite quote:

"Live your life as a good man. If there is a god and he is just, he will not care how much you have worshipped him but will judge you on the merits of your actions. If there is a god and he is unjust, then you should not want to worship him. If there is no god, you will have lived a good life that will live on in the memories of those who met you."

I have nothing more to say. You guys have a good night.

Agnostic-Atheist

When I say this I mean belief in a higher power but no deity and certainly not religion.

I'll keep it simple. I don't believe in God or any higher power nor do I let anything dictate the way I chose to live life. I always say live life the way you see fit and let others do the same, if someone chooses to believe in w/e religion that's fine as long as they don't try to force their beliefs on me then we have a problem.

Well as great as this quote may be it still doesn't cover all the issues. Let's say muslims are correct and let's say you ate pork, masturbated, etc. Although you lived a good life you still did things against the eyes of Muhammed. So if he were to exist you living your good life would be meaningless and he would still punish you.

People say God is watching over us at all times, but then why does God watch over us while we are suffering or in pain? Wouldn't a "father" (apparently God made the first man) want the best of his children?

I personally do not believe in God but I do believe in the Supernatural such as ghosts, demons, spirits, souls, etc.

I can only believe in facts, and that's what I believe.

That's an arrogant way to look at life. Do you not believe it's wrong to murder someone? It's not really a fact that it's wrong to murder someone. In fact, some areas around the world condone killing people under certain circumstances.

No, a fact is something that is definit, whereas 'God' isn't. Which is why I cannot be faithful to something that isn't factual or has some sort of fact around it.

Religion is brainwashing, every week you have to do shit because a book tells you to. We all have a mind to figure things out our self. Learn more about Earth, Biology, Astronomy, Physics, and Atoms. Then question everything your religion tells you.

I think religion comes from first-hand witnesses of the hundreds of thousands of prophets and the Holy Books.

Some people think ignorant about the books but they are factual, with lots of knowledge.

In the end though, it comes down to "Believing in the unseen".

This is what I think.
