New Computer - New OSBot

Featured Replies

Hello!

I'm not very good with computers but I know how to operate things with instructions.

I'v run into a problem, I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7 (Windows 8 is horrible IMO)

When I try to open up osbot this is what pops up.....

I can't seem to figure out how to change the file to java. I'v downloaded the latest version of java thinking it would automaticly work the knots out but apparently not.

Please do you best to help!

Thankyou!

Right click it in your downloads folder, then go to properties, then change the open with to a Java platform.

Hope this helps!

No Java Platform pops up for it, I'm going to try downloading x32bit and see if that works!

I'll get back to you

Good luck! I hope it does mate, have you got Java and JDK installed?

And if that doesn't work try making a batch file to run it.

@echo off
@color A
echo ------------------------------------------------
echo Osbot , Starting up...
echo ------------------------------------------------
echo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
echo . C l i e n t o u t p u t b e l o w .
echo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"(YOUR LOCATION TO) java.exe" -jar -Xmx512M YOURJARNAME.jar
pause

for me it looks like this

@echo off
@color A
echo ------------------------------------------------
echo Osbot , Starting up...
echo ------------------------------------------------
echo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
echo . C l i e n t o u t p u t b e l o w .
echo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -jar -Xmx512M osbot63.jar
pause

Make sure to make this batch in the same directory as the jar.

(To make a jar, post that code into a notepad file, and save it as run.bat or something)

go to google and type "JDK download" click the first link it will bring up a download to java jdk1.7.0_45 give that a download reboot computer if needed and it will fix your issue, hope this helps :)
