Update on workout

Featured Replies

A little of the month ago I started working out. I've became a lot more fit and athletic. I haven't really gained much mass yet but I'm still just starting out. I plan on continuing working hard and trying to get stronger, and healthier. Here are some pictures

I don't know if you can tell any gain or not but I feel a lot better.

What workout do you do? I do Layne Norton's workouts. (I'm too lazy to build my own workout, I'd just rather steal a professional bodybuilder's :P)

I just do my normal wrestling practice and then sometimes I might lift afterwards. I don't really have a set routine, just how the day goes.

You went from Auschwitz mode to a normal human being.

Thanks man means a lot! Lmfao

You're a bit bigger. Are you benching at all? What type of workout? I'm doing this:

Bigger/Faster/Stronger Program

-Monday, Wednesday, Friday I do bench-pressing, squatting, and 100 weighted crunches.

-Tuesday: Arms (tricep, bicep)

-Thursday: Push/Pull (Shoulders, Lats, flies, abs)

It is working pretty good so far. I begun around October 3rd. I started out benching only 85lbs (5 rep max)

Now I am up to 140 (5 rep max) and 165 (1 rep max)

It's a pretty good program to use if you're looking to get big, I wish I could find old pictures of me so I could show you the difference. Defiantly no more bird chest! Lol

If you have any questions, just PM me :)

Hopefully this helps.

Oh I do some real ********ashit in the gym. What do you do at wrestling practice other than live and learning moves + conditioning?

Since you're so skinny already (no offence) do more bulking type workouts and less "low weight high rep" type things. Pick weights that you can barely get 5 or so reps, and do a workout of 5 reps of that weight for 3 or so sets. Lifting heavier weight puts your body into bulking mode.

Low weight, high rep honestly does nothing except endurance and toning... nothing to be proud of lol

Exactly what I was saying. Of course if you do it correctly you can get absolutely shredded from it (just look up the people who are on the crossfit games) but for him he definitely needs to bulk.

True, but they only do that because they are already built and just want to keep it all toned lol. I'm going to do the same thing when I hit 180 on the bench

Very Nice job mate, impressed and wish you the best for the future. (same underwear in both pictures lol. hope you changed since the first picture)

Wrestling isn't as much as a workout as I thought it'd be (lifting etc). There's a lot of conditioning where it works out all of our muscles. A lot of it is abdomen based, if you can tell. I definitely do want to start lifting more but I'm always tired after wrestling :/

That's the perfect time to lift! It's a mental strength test, but if you get through it you're muscles will be rock hard. Trust me I was in your same position a few years ago but stuck with it and I'm so glad I did.

Bench press is overrated. You can get way better workouts by not benching. Its more of a bragging thing. If that makes any sense.

Are dumbbells decent for a small workout? I have some weights at home that I can use when I get bored.

Also my max bench I could do is 115 but I only got it done once.
