Marijuana: Legal or illegal.

Featured Replies

Kyle about your point, weed can easily lead to bad things such as crack etc, that's why it's illegal in most countries and Alcohol isn't because Alcohol doesn't lead you to try stuff which can harm you and everything around you.

Rofl look @ most people that go clubs and drink, they all take party drugs which are FAR FAR worse for your system.. #2013Logics..

Everyone is always saying the drug is harmless. But what you don't understand is that the drugs harms the whole economy.

Now you ask why? It would create a lot of new jobs, people would spend money on it... The jobs part is true, but it's wrong that it would make the economy any better:

- The money the ppl are going to spend on Marijuana will be spent less on other stuff, maybe more important stuff like healthy food.

- Canabise user are not as productive.

- You will get addicted to it. Belive me you do. Whoever says the opposite is not honest. (ofc you don't get addicted on the first use...)

This are some of my tought on why it should be illegal. I dont care if some think less ppl would do it if legalized. Even if it would be true, it's still a drug and tabacco and alcohol are causing enough trouble and costs for healthcare already.

Every drug is dangerous. Whoever says mj is no problem at all, - no offense - is a retard. sorry.

P.S.: This is what i want for Europe. USA is pretty fucked up anyways, im my eyes every hope for You is lost. tongue.png

your lack of understanding in the economy bewilders me

"  - The money the ppl are going to spend on Marijuana will be spent less on other stuff, maybe more important stuff like healthy food. "

weather or not £1,000,000 is spent on  food or dope.. its still taxable all the same so how this effects the economy i don't see your point and as in most governments alcohol and cigarettes are taxed alot higher then your food... so if anything the government would make more cash out of it being legalized

" Canabise user are not as productive. "

but they are more creative ..look at the history of music ..the 60's still to this day has some of the best music now the main drug being abused at this time was hash and acid... coincidence?? i think not..but either way yes i would agree you are less productive but ... if i was high while doing a repetitive boring job id stick it out alot longer then if i was sober ..if you need to think alot for your job its not so good i agree productivity would go down  :)

" You will get addicted to it. Belive me you do. Whoever says the opposite is not honest. (ofc you don't get addicted on the first use...)"

addictions are all around us my friend spends more money on sugary sweets then he does on dope that is an addiction .. my mum has to drink coffee every morning without fail there in lies a addiction to caffine ..many of my friends are addicted to energy drinks not even knowing the real side effects of taurine or whatever                monosodo-aspartame brain damaging chemicals they wish to put in

People never think about the real reason as to why marijuana is illegal. A lot of marijuana distribution can be directly linked to gangs and drug cartels, and the crime that comes with them. Marijuana being illegal is a way to help them advance the fight on these people. If we can prevent them from making money by selling their drugs, we're preventing them from buying weapons and causing violence.

Note: I understand the original ill-legalization was not at all for this reason, however we can not change the past and it has remained illegal for my reasoning stated above. If it had never been originally ill-legalized then people wouldn't of had to start selling it illegal, requiring violence to do so. However, we're in the situation we are now and we have to look at it with a real-time perspective.

It should be legal..  I honestly don't believe it's a "gateway drug". Sure it's the first thing most druggies try because it's cheap and easier to get at a younger age than most other drugs. It just depends on what type of person you are, if you have low will-power and drink alcohol, you'll most likely become an abusive, raging alcoholic. If you try weed, it could help, or you'll get bored of it and want to find something to fuck you up even more... Like alcohol..

Yes please make it legal, more smokers > less productive citizens > less competition for college and jobs > more jobs for me > more money for me.

I and a group of friends smoke weed everyday..

Cannabis being a "gateway" drug is complete bull, the only thing we used besides cannabis is truffles..

I would never use any drug that creates an "out of the world" experience.

I smoke a lot and never had any problems with it.. in fact, I can do school work way better, I am way more concentrated and I just get a lot more done..

I smoke weed for multi-purposes.. pain treatment is one and the main reason it should be legalized, I live in the Netherlands and there are little to no problems with drug usage here..

Weed should be legal in the US. Nothing harmful comes from the drug, so studies have said, and it has no bad side effects that make people go all loony. Nicotine is more addictive and unhealthy and has years of evidence that shows that it creates a problem with cancer. My theory, along with a lot of other law enforcement minded kind of people is this:

Make marijuana legal, and tax it. The country gets another source of income from the people, which could help raise money for such things as health care, roads, city parks, rejuvenation of bad parts of cities, and almost any other thing that you can imagine that the government takes part in.

The second part of this would be ending the Drug War. For so long now, US has fought this war with the drug lords of Mexico. Eliminating the illegal drug by making it legal would make so many of the drug lords lose business that it could possible shut them down, or at least take a hit for quite some time. Ending this drug war should be one of the top priorities within the government, as well as making money/income without raising taxes on middle to poor Americans.

I personally think people shouldn't smoke marijuana because it is a mind altering drug that can affect your ability to work, operate a car, and most everything in life. People will say it just makes you sit there and do nothing at all, but that's my point. Instead of getting out there and working on a job, you are sitting there at home forcing someone else to pick up the slack left behind by you. So, while I believe that you shouldn't smoke anything that alters your perception of reality, I also don't think people should do anything that will harm you like nicotine or do chew.

ok, first off marijuana is not addictive. nuff said. nicotine is not essentially bad for you. it is addictive, but not bad for your health. show me a case where nicotine has caused cancer.

I do agree with you about making it legal and taxing it though.

second, there will always be a "drug war". marijuana is not the only export from mexico. ie cocaine, heroine.. etc

and believe me, im sure the government wants this drug war to be over. USD is leaving the country and going into the hands of forgien druglords. the government doesn't care that its going to druglords. they care that the money is leaving the states.

third, I agree with you. people shouldn't smoke marijuana. there are other ways of consuming it that is more beneficial for your health. ie vaporizing, baking, etc.

though no harmful side effects of marijuana have been found, the smoke is still not good for your lungs.

fourth, marijuana is a plant not a drug. definition of a drug is " a mind altering substance". marijuana does not alter your mind any more than a Tylenol would.

it does not effect your ability to work, drive, etc. the person who uses marijuana makes the choice of being lazy, negligent to observe and pay attention to the raod, so on and so forth. marijuana does not just make you sit there and do nothing. again that is the persons choice. forcing someone else to pick up the slack<< lulz

What, about marijuana, alters your perception of reality?? LSD alters ur perception of reality, so does methamphetamine, k2 "spice" "incense", bath salts. ie seeing, hearing, etc.. things that are not there

again, nicotine does not harm you. nicotine is a crutch. whats along side the nicotine is what harms you. nicotine is in chew as well... fyi. guessing you didn't know by the way you wrote it.

I'm an active marijuana user (or a POTHEAD waffle would say) and I agree very much that it should be legal. I'm not going to go in as depth as you guys, but I smoke it every day, I have a stable girlfriend (who smokes with me<3 love you babe) and a stable job. I get around C's and B's, and I have alot going on in my life. I use weed as an escape, and although it is a gateway drug, I know that me and a handful of my friends (probably all of them considering I only have a handful) would never try anything other than weed.

ok, let me clear some stuff up for you. you use weed as an escape? sad. I smoke weed for medicinal purposes. constant migraines, lower back, left knee, and ankle pain. marijuana is not a gateway drug. if marijuana is a gateway drug, why haven't you or any of your friends tried any other drugs. marijuana is not the gate way.

the typical people that you have to deal with, ie dealers, are the gateway. the more you are around marijuana, chances are the more likely you are going to be around other people who use marijuana, and other drugs. the more time you are around them, the more likely the other drugs will be around you. the more you are around the other drugs the more likely they will ask, push, want you to try it. or it might be ur own curiosity that makes you want to try it. I have past experience in this. im not just talking out my ass. I had some pretty low friends. but as soon as I got away from them, I cleaned up my act. buuuuut, I still smoke marijuana.

"What, about marijuana, alters your perception of reality?? LSD alters ur perception of reality, so does methamphetamine, k2 "spice" "incense", bath salts. ie seeing, hearing, etc.. things that are not there"

Meth is strictly euphoria it doesn't alter your perception, it doesn't alter your perception and there is a difference between mind altering and a change in perception (mind altering != alters ur perception of reality)

Marijuana is classified as a drug, along with alcohol and any other substance thats "a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body."

Weed is actually a mind altering substance, its classified as a

"depressant (calming, sleepy) ,

stimulant (raises blood pressure/heart rate),

narcotic (pain relief, euphoria),

and psychoactive psychedelic (though not a hallucinogen by definition) "

You seem very uneducated on the subject so i wouldn't go around correcting people...

"ok, let me clear some stuff up for you. you use weed as an escape? sad." He uses it to relax and relieve stress and forget about his problems, this is what people mainly use weed as, and i wouldn't consider this sad. Usually what people realize from doing this is that there problems aren't really that much of a problem as they thought it was.

"marijuana is not a gateway drug. if marijuana is a gateway drug, why haven't you or any of your friends tried any other drugs. marijuana is not the gate way.

the typical people that you have to deal with, ie dealers, are the gateway. the more you are around marijuana, chances are the more likely you are going to be around other people who use marijuana, and other drugs. the more time you are around them, the more likely the other drugs will be around you. the more you are around the other drugs the more likely they will ask, push, want you to try it. or it might be ur own curiosity that makes you want to try it. There isn't one answer to that subject, There is multiple things that contribute to it being a gateway drug not just one thing. Infact i would have to disagree with that. A drug dealer doesn't usually try to pressure people to buy other stuff because it can be annoying and end up him losing customers, so the most you'll get is him asking if you want some other things.

But anyways i know people who have said that weed just wasn't a good enough high for them and thats why they moved on to other drugs. People simply were just curious and got hooked. And then sometimes peer pressure. The thing about weed being considered a gateway drug is because it opens up opportunities to using other drugs. But that doesn't mean every person that smokes weed is going to use hard drugs

I believe Marijuana should be legal as people are already doing it, so we might as well make it legal. Plus it is a lot better than meth or cocaine...
