Im not a pot smoker, but think should be legal. With restrictions to buildings like smoking.

I believe it should be legal in all 50 states. Look back at prohibition and all the problems we had during that period. If weed was legal we would not see drug dealers on the streets (well, weed dealers that is). Major distributors such as walmart would sell weed, and no dealer would be able to compete.

Everyone is always saying the drug is harmless. But what you don't understand is that the drugs harms the whole economy.

Now you ask why? It would create a lot of new jobs, people would spend money on it... The jobs part is true, but it's wrong that it would make the economy any better:

- The money the ppl are going to spend on Marijuana will be spent less on other stuff, maybe more important stuff like healthy food.

- Canabise user are not as productive.

- You will get addicted to it. Belive me you do. Whoever says the opposite is not honest. (ofc you don't get addicted on the first use...)

This are some of my tought on why it should be illegal. I dont care if some think less ppl would do it if legalized. Even if it would be true, it's still a drug and tabacco and alcohol are causing enough trouble and costs for healthcare already.

Every drug is dangerous. Whoever says mj is no problem at all, - no offense - is a retard. sorry.

P.S.: This is what i want for Europe. USA is pretty fucked up anyways, im my eyes every hope for You is lost. :P

Studies have shown that the average use of marihuana in the US, where it is illegal, is higher than in The Netherlands, where it is legal. The topic of discussion is, why should marihuana be legal or illegal. Making it illegal seems to make it people want and use it more, as these numbers would suggest: http://www.drugwarfacts.org/cms/netherlands_v_us#sthash.eftL40Fw.dpbs

Doesn't the U.S. consume more alcohol, have more alcoholics, and the most breweries too?

We just rage too hard.

*edit*

Tbh I was just going for a laugh, but I saw the post above mine and felt I needed to address addiction.

There are studies and studies, but everything is very personal. I had an extreme addiction to adderall, but not to ritalin.

I also get irritable, can't eat as much, don't sleep as well, and feel uncomfortable if I don't smoke every day.

But I feel like that's a psychological addiction only because I'm used to being high a lot and when I'm not, I feel discomfort.

I like being high, so naturally when I'm not, I would prefer to be high. I also am much more hungry when I'm high (munchies), I sleep better (couch lock), and have no worries (just chillin). So, it would make sense that when I'm no longer under that influence with those effects, I feel like everyone else: stressed about stuff, tired, etc. As though since I'm used to feeling high, sobriety doesn't seem like normality and I therefore think I'm having addiction and withdrawal.

[being used to being high isn't addiction. If you're used to having sex with your girlfriend all the time, then she breaks up with you and you're horny- does that make you a sex addict?]

I also take month-long t-breaks and the only discipline I need is for the first 48 hours. After that it becomes a non-issue.

Making it legal with some rules and it should be fine.

Smoking marijuana in my opinion is the same thing as smoking a cigarette. Yes I know both contain different chemicals, and do different things to your body, but the fact is both involve breathing smoke into your lungs. I don't care what anyone says to that, smoke going in to your lungs is in no way good for you. If you think one is bad you think the other is bad, just my opinion on the subject.

As for legalizing it, I think it should pretty much be put on the market as a recreational drug. It's a proven fact that most drugs on the market right now have serious side effects and completely mess with your body. Marijuana only enhances the brains functions, alleviates pain and no serious side effects are known. I would rather see people in pain smoke Marijuana then get addicted to a pain killer.

Quick video I found interesting if anyone wants to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeF6rFN9org

legalize biggrin.png  ban the s**t out of alcohol that's the stuff that gets me in trouble :s cannabis cannot kill or harm you in any way in my opinion  ... if you eat it instead of smoking the medicinal properties are amazing i tend to dabble in eating oil which is very pleasant experience  if i was able to grow without repercussions i could smoke high THC content sativa's in the day to get things done then heavy set Indica full of CBD at night smile.png

As someone who is literally high everyday, all day...

I hope they don't, I'd have to pay through the roof at a dispensary and my dealer gives me such nice deals.

The only reason weed isn't being legalized is because politicians don't want to lose any votes or popularity. But I bet that Obama goes home every night and smokes a bowl with Michelle :p

Keep it illegal, if they legalize it they will tax the shit out of it. Then it will be to expensive for us to smoke which will lead to harder drugs :[

Honestly I wish that weed was legalized only to get rid of the negative stereotypes. I mean really the only reason ppl thing weed is bad for u is because it's illegal. If weed was legal it'd prolly be looked down upon less than smoking cigarettes

Negative Stereotypes? There truly is none anymore.  60% of society smokes pot. It's just hidden.

I think it should be legalized, but with obvious rules. I agree that personal use away from public property is A ok by me. Not everyone wants to smell like a join all the time either.

I say give it until the Pre/Post Depression generation dies off and closed minded conservatists and it'll be legalized.
