I have always been against it, I am a Christian and we do not believe in doing drugs, or any of the sort.  I have nothing against anyone that does it, but I don't like to be around it, nor will I ever. I work in a place where you aren't allowed to use it outside of work, and we drug test everyone randomly.

 

I'm a christian and I do it all the time. Also, add the fact that i'm 15. Weed does not harm you, but it will stimulate you to be in a not-so-active state. I smoke MaryJ at least 3 - 4 times week. Why? I like the feeling, taste, and getting high is a great feeling, Yes, I do think they should legalize. The American Government will pull in at least 10 billion extra revenue and that money go towards better things such as cancer research, education, sports, hospital equipment, etc. 

 

Can you also state to me where christians are against drugs in the bible? 

Weed should remain illegal so I can confiscate it if I ever become a cop.

who gives a crap nowadays anyways, It's decriminalized in so many freakin places lol, if you wanted you could just go to California,Netherlands,Colorado,Washington, parts of Canada,France, Parts of India & Pakistan, Jamaica, North Korea, Portugal, parts of Uruguay and thats not even all the places, hell I live in fvckin New York, it got decriminalized recently but still illegal, Government does not give a flying sht about smoking weed, they care about distribution ive been arrested before for selling in the past, and the last few years all I do is just smoke it, no redistribution or anything, if you get pulled over here or a cop finds you smoking, chances are they will search you for more serious drugs like blow, heroin or prescription pills, find nothing(unless your a crackhead or a rich crackhead that does coke), take your weed or give you a weed ticket. 

 

Hell I got pulled over once, and it reeked like striaght bud, I just striaght up told the cop Im in a rush an don't have time, and that I have a little less then a gram on me, he told me to just throw it down the sewer an go home, he appreciated the honesty and kept it simple. I went home to my Oz and jsut kept toking.

 

Weed is not a big deal anymore, besides everyones dabbing hash oils now, flowers are so 2000 lol

I agree it should be legal, I use it on a daily basis. It has NO deaths known, but Cigarettes are Legal with 122,323,938,282 deaths.. I don't understand this country. Whatever Obama is doing is obviously not working.

I think it should be legal. I mean it's been proven to have no bad effects. I personally used to be anti-marijuana and I tried my best to try and prove my friend wrong that it's bad. I researched EVERYWHERE and I couldn't come up with anything. The only study that said that weed damages brain cells have been proven wrong. And I don't get why alcohol and tobacco are ok but weed isn't. Alcohol causes people to be violent and it's kinda pretty obvious it's bad. Tobacco has worse effects than weed does, too. Weed isn't a drug, it's a plant. Yeah it makes you feel high but nothing bad comes of it. The ONLY reason I found of why it should be illegal is because its medical-related and that it won't be ok for people to plant their own "medicine" because it interferes with some pharmacy related law or some shit.

I would hope to se it become legal one day as a recreational drug, and at the very least a medicinal drug.

I'm not an avid pot smoker myself, but even I see the drug war is a petty attempt.

The government needs to focus on more important things, like providing more benefitical services to its population than drug arrests.

Now, in no way am I saying we should allow people to smoke cannabis wherever they want. There should be some restrictions similar to tobacco on it.

I used to be anti-marijuana until a friend of mine dared me to find proof that it does have bad effects. I looked everywhere and sure, there's a lot of claims, but you can't find the studies that back them up lol. The only one I found that says that marijuana damages brain cells and the nerves was a study made on monkeys where they gave them a shitton of weed EVERYDAY in ridiculous amounts. I don't recall what it was called but it was proven to be false. If you think it has "bad" effects, I'd like to know where you read that. I'd still like to prove my friend wrong

I think weed should be legal for many different reasons.

These are my two most importent once:

 

1. A lot of people seem to show interest in things that are illegal. For example: when kids are prohibited things by their parents you often see them trying to do it anyways (because things that aren't allowed are more interesting to people). The same works for weed. In the Netherlands I have asked a lot of people what they think about weed in general and it's not big of an issue to most people because it is accepted in the society (mostly). It is not something you can be proud of to do (woohoo I am 18 and I'm smoking this badass spliff). But in other countries it makes you more "badass" when smoking weed because it is illegal. Think of alcohol. Alcohol is accepted in most societies and no one cares if you tell them you drink, because it isn't special or anything. So if you make weed legal less people would actually smoke it (as weird as it seems). You can see the results in Maxi's linked page.

 

2. It could provide a lot of money to the government. Now that we are in an economic crisis and we have to put a lot of savings on important stuff (education for example) money would be very useful. If you make weed legal it would provide an option for the government to raise taxes on buying weed (like they do on sigarettes). The prices won't increase (much) because when weed is legal there will be weed farms which are supervised by the government and taken good care of instead of all the home grown weed which who knows what has been done with. This would create a safer environment for weed production and provide a lot of money to the government which they can then spend on education or research to healthier weed (everything is possible).

smoking a lot of weed can harm your shortterm memory. You would have to smoke a lot and very often but I know people where it shows very clear that this has effect.
