Look up a tutorial on focal placement, it would help you a lot. Although it still does look good centered, it could be better :p

Work on your effects when your smudging, and try to incorporate depth, it's hard but it's necessary.

Most smudge artists don't make tags solely with the smudge style, they incorperate it with styles like my type of tags, very flashy. Try and do that yourself, you could come out with a great outcome.
