I'm looking at a lot of tutorials and learning to make GUI's. Right now everything I'm learning is from swing, but is JavaFX better? Are the both used but for different things? I don't want to waste my time learning how to build using swing if FX is going to take over.

It seems to be better imo, but I personally don't like the idea of the switch unless they leave Swing as well for scripters to use.

Swing is not going to be removed - it's a part of the JRE (therefore it is not up to the bot developers on whether it remains or not), and can safely run synchronously with JavaFX.... When OSBot 2 is released, you will be free to continue to use swing - but it sure will look ugly.

I prefer JavaFX over Swing. JavaFX has a more rich design and elegance.

JavaFX will still have to proof it will be the next standard for GUI design but I definitely believe this will be the case. It has quick development and release cycles and they are working out the downsides at a fast pace. 

JavaFX is easier, swing isn't thread safe, but who cares? I use swing, since I learned it first
