I'm guessing you made your name similar to one of the following:

"KKKFC"

"niqqa"

"hitler"

"dog"

 

Therefore, Jagex is quite butthurt and will require you to change it.

This happens when you make a new account via referral and don't set a name aswell :-)

You can set it in account settings, can you not?

    When you use Refer a Friend you don't get a username. You have to go on Runescape.com, login and set the username.
