Runescape WILL ruin your life~short story

Featured Replies

Hello OSBot community. I've played RuneScape since the game came out and let me tell you from personal experience it is the biggest waste of time in a person's life. The game itself when I first played looked like complete crap, I didn't like it and then at some point in time.. about 4th or 5th grade everyone started playing and talking about runescape so i tried it again. This time I thought the graphics were still horrible but for some reason I got sucked into this game. At first I would just play for fun on weekends, then by 6th grade I was playing every single day for about two hours a day. The real problem started by 7-8th grade. I started playing this game 8-12 hours a day, Legit. I started losing my friends and soon I had none left. 9th grade came around and I realized I had a full blown out addiction to the game. I was hooked and at this time I still didn't have any friends and I was now so socially awkward I did not know how to converse with anyone. I was afraid to talk to people because the game had became my reality, mind you I was completely comfortable with typing to other players on the game. At this point the game was completely running my life. I would argue with my mom over not paying for my membership and I would get really angry. I would also skip school and stay up all night playing, weekend or not. After a while I got sick of not having friends, so I picked up a new hobby to fit in which was smoking weed. I would smoke weed before and after school, sometimes I would even slip away to smoke during class. My grades were falling and I was still playing runescape. I stopped caring about school and would sleep the whole school day because I stayed up all night playing runescape. 10th grade, I completely flunked so I dropped out for half a year just so I could stay at home and play runescape, I returned to school in 11th grade and I was getting all A's, and I quit playing runescape. Half way thru the year, (again) I started playing runescape and I dropped out again because of the addiction to the game. Now I have fully quit playing the game. I wish i could get those thousands of hours spent playing the game back. I am an 18 year old drop out. I am supposed to be a senior in high school but thanks to this game I'm struggling with which way to turn in life. To this day, I regret ever starting to play such a game. Ive lost many opportunities over this stupid online game and I'm finally going to get my life back on track because the game let me go. Whatever you do, don't let this game run you. Quit now if you can, stick to botting. this game is more addicting than drugs.  now, hate all you want on this post. Just sharing a little of what the game can truely do to you and your life.

wow, it's so wierd because thats exactly like me wow hahaha

Summarized:

If you have no self restraint and you're socially awkward, don't play RS.

^^^ i needed that guide 3 years ago...

its too late now lmao.

Don't blame a game for you addiction, clearly you didn't balance it with other aspects of life.

Damn bro that sucks :\

I was once addicted to runescape and played ridiculous amount of hours a day but i never let it hurt my relationship with friends, or grades in school. Those two always came before runescape no matter how important an update or new feature thingy in rs might be.

I would argue with my mom over not paying for my membership and I would get really angry.

Don't blame the game for your problems.. You could have chose to not play 8+ hours a day.

Jmods weren't holding a gun to your head saying play it now or else!

You chose to play it, self responsibility.. Its like a fat person eating to much McDonalds, then blaming them.

Not trying to be a dick either. I do hope your life is better/gets better :D

runescape already ruined what little life I spend on it, thats why we have bots, so it can ruin the bots life, instead of mine.

Classic :P I've had many addicted friends and I to have spend way to many hours playing this game. How-ever It never got as far as me not doing something important. I've always attained school an done my homework and I'm now nearly done with college, having runescape as a secondary income. So I guess it turned out quite well hehe.

Life if what you make of it ;) It looks to as as if you have no self restraint and no discipline. That's something you really need in life man.. work on it! everybody can do it.

A big wall of text... I know this may come as a shocker, but that is the biggest thread turn off in the entire world. Try breaking it into smaller, easier to read, sections. As for the game problem.. That's really your issues, not the games. After all your parents were paying for it you should have been somewhat more grateful for that. Either way, don't blame your short comings on a game.

ruined your'e life? lmao you are 18 kid just one mistake in the many you will make. What matters is what you do day by day, i did almost the same thing minus the no freinds part. I got my ged, got a job worked hard 60 hours a week for 8 months and got myself a awesome mustang gt for like 4k. im 19... you are 18.. your life isnt over lmao

deep, i always cancel my membership when schools starts and some of my friends screw around on the game with me :D
