I'd like to make a carreer switch to IT. 15 hours is what i have to spend every week. I'd like to get into software developing... full stack developer eventually Any tips or advice for IT experts ? dudeyoyo Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 If you're serious about it then you should go for some related degree, With only things like bootcamps and random certifications, it's a lot harder to get a job. Not impossible, just will take a lot more effort.

Muffins Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) IT in large is a very broad spectrum so getting in to "IT" has a lot of paths. Do you want to be a developer? Work on Leetcode's and whatever language you want to work in. Sys/Dev ops? Get familiar with cloud architecture and SaaS/IaaS/etc. platforms and get related certifications. The list goes on and on. duration Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) I have been in school for like 6 years now. You will never stop learning about things related to IT. Go to college and get a two year degree. It will teach you a lot about computers. I am a full stack developer and i can say that its a lot of studying and hard work to get to this point. I had to learn around 6 languages for one application that i had to build. Also college gives you really good references when you get out. Edited November 9, 2021 by duration

Then go ahead and do some research into online guides for that specific subject. And do know, google will always be your best friend when getting into 'IT'

At the moment I have completed the courses for html, css and javascript. Currently learning and understanding React. I've thought about moving from banking into some form of computer science myself. I'm also a huge traveller and would love to live abroad.
