Is making scripts illegal?

Featured Replies

Hey, I’m interested in creating scripts as a hobby. But can any legal actions be taken against you (the programmer of the script) when you sell these scripts? I feel that it might be an unessecary risk for me to create scripts to then get sued/prosecuted.

Best regards,

The only real answer is that it has never been tested in court.

Ok, so you guys have never heard like anything happen to the scriptmakers? I’m new to this so sorry if I ask dumb questions :D But thanks for the input on that it isn’t really illegal.

Never heard of anything like that. + if they wanted to sue someone, I don't think they'd start with the script makers but with big gold selling sites.

Okay! Thank you so much :)

Currently typing from my cell on a Nokia 2280, i txt my friend and he uploads posts for me.

Can't keep a hitta down

It's unlikely they'd target individual scripters when they could just take the platform down as a whole. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.

It is technically illegal.

However.. if Jagex were to take any legal action, they would be going after the entire platform, not individual scripters.

Virtually no risk.

I doubt it. The botting client acts on the game, not the scripts. The scripts are just the instructions the botting clients have to act on.

If you see some men in black show up to your house just lock the door and pretend they are not there.. works for me. :) Best of luck!
