The Psychology of Botting

Featured Replies

So, what do you guys prefer to do when you are botting?

For example, take a fletching bot. Is it smarter to bot in a highly populated world in Pest Control, where you'll be lost in a sea of other legit players and bots, or better to bot in Pest Control with 1-2 other people to minimize the chances of being around during a bot bust/potential reporters?

Is it better to bot at a normal bank (IE lumbridge) and risk getting one of the broken randoms, or bot in a random free area but risk being a more obvious bot? (Not many legit players are worried about constant randoms during skilling)

What are your guys' preferences, and what precautions do you take that aren't necessarily proven to work, but make you more comfortable leaving your bot unsupervised?

Discuss :)

w1 pest bank

That's what I'm doing now, but is that really safer? If a manual bot bust were to happen anywhere, world 1/2/45/30 at pest control would be a prime target.

I'm always fletching at Nardah bank.

Lawl same

World 1 flecht at v west bank.. U would't get spotted.

And no mod will bot bust you their.. since u cant have a normal conversation their.

I've seen you I think haha. This is a good one, almost always empty. Those few people you do see are more likely to report you I imagine (anyone with a brain can realize that a fletcher at nardah is probaaaably a bot).

What if you were botting something like runecrafting? Where other players don't effect your output/hr, but you can't hide in front of a bank booth. Would you still prefer to be in a swarm of other bots and players, or with just 1-2 other legit players?

1 -2 other players. Rc'ers dont really chat with each other unless they're friends or something. You might get the occasional "RC lv?" question or something

I think you mean the psychology of botters ;) in that case, that one's easy.

Why the fuck would I spend 400+ hours repeating the same task when I only have one life to live and the game isn't even that fun.

Tbh, I feel jagex already detected many macros, but just doesn't ban everyone immediately for business reasons. Rather, they let you play a while, and then ban you if they feel like it
