Satire
I reported myself on an acc I botted on for a full week and then played legit for 2 days(for like 1 hour/day, ain't got time 2 play legit wtf). The results will shock you (not), I got banned So don't think your safe if you previously botted and are now playing legit. I'd have to think you'd need to play for quite a long time, to hide your previous "botting patterns". So reports do count and you get banned if 1 person reports you. Just keep that in mind (if you haven't already).
Zabuza
Well yeah, but I don't see alot of people actually using the report button tbh... It's usually automated bans. 90% of the time.
Administrator Maldesto Posted October 4, 2017 Administrator Share Posted October 4, 2017 How do you know no one else reported you?
Antonio Kala
Jagex have stated a lot of times they only use reports as hotspots, if a spot receives a lot of reports they go check it out. I think only reports that matter are the ones that get posted on the forums or sent to weath on twitter directly. I had botted it with 100% supervision and nobody was in any of the areas that I was in when I was botting. But If there was, the script would auto hop worlds(this was p2p so there are areas were it's almost empty). I can't say for certain that nobody reported me but the chances of that are highly unlikely. But for sure, it's a valid question that I cannot give a definitive answer to. I haven't been banned on quite a lot of accounts but all of a sudden after reporting myself, I get banned? This could be a coincidence or could not be. I'm sure they look at every report they get (they might have a system that can automatically analyze what they've done in a time frame and give an estimate if it was a bot or not). But there is no way they'd only check it out if a certain spot receives a lot of reports. Because with that logic, you can just go to the end of runescape where nobody ever goes to and start killing rats or whatever 24/7. The only thing that we can not know is if we get banned by the system or not. Just because it says in the message that the system banned you (it could just be there to tip off people) so they can't actually tell if it was a human or program that banned them. This topic is very debatable but who knows. I'm just reporting what I had witnessed with my account.
Hawx
Could be that once a person reports a player the bot detect will auto check that player, can't imagine them using a bot detect 24/7 for all the accounts on rs, so a report could be a trigger for bot detect to check that players has been botting or what not and then onto IP and check other accounts on the same IP? idk just my two cents. coolkidson
i don't think reports really work like that unless its for like offensive language in my opinion
