Which means the monster you are attacking is either not there or you spelt it wrong. Ensure it's exactly the monsters name and its near you, caps, spaces etc. If it still doesn't work pm me.

Was going well before that You set up the bot wrong. You need to be in a safe spot where you are unable to be attacked. For example the grizzly bear behind varrock palace. What happened was auto retal likely caused it to smack it with staff, therefore defense exp gained.
