Hyperrrrrrrr Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Its a shame that this happened but good on the administration team for being forthcoming and truthful about the situation.
Jordan Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I always had a bad feeling ever since she encouraged that fake Chinese scammer. 1

BotRS123 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 As part of my responsibilities for being an admin and a developer of OSBot, I have to let everyone know that our database has been leaked. We do not know for sure if passwords were stripped from the leaked version of the database, however, let it be known that the database was leaked by one of our administrators, Kati. This is a very unfortunate event and we are still working out the details. Kati was a vital part of the administration team here at OSBot. We have demoted Kati due to the fact that this is a very serious matter. Although we are not sure for certain, we believe Kati was blackmailed and forced into giving out the database. Let it be clear: The database contained plenty of sensitive information, including your PMs and chat logs. We are urging everybody to change your forum password ASAP and to change any RuneScape passwords which may have been transferred via PMS or over the chat as well as any other passwords from other websites if you transferred this information via our website. We apologize deeply for the recent unfolding of these events. We will be hiring an admin soon to replace Kati on the team. Admins are hand-picked so refrain from suggesting anybody. We already have an idea of who might fit the role. tl;dr: Change your passwords immediately! Sincerely, The OSBot Team. NOTE: Your RuneScape account details which are saved by the client are stored locally on your computer. We will never have access to your RuneScape passwords unless they are disclosed on the website! Thank you for informing us of this. I really appreciate this. You just earned more of my respect. Was there anything else that Kati did besides leaked the database?
SXForce Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Oh my. Bad news. http://www.howsecureismypassword.net Let alone the salted one. Cool website. :P Didn't know about that. This is mine lol:
Dreamliner Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 http://www.howsecureismypassword.net Let alone the salted one. They know the salt. All they have to do is salt the has when cracking. Salts prevent against dictionary attacks for people who use the password - password or 1234
GoldenGates Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Kati was held hostage...that's my best guess.
