Are there any engineers here? If so, what discipline? I'm a power engineer myself, so I have some mechanical, electrical, and construction experience as well as power plant operations.

The "no" has been updated. I forgot I even created this awful looking signature. The script behind it is decent, but I'm not sure how it is with blocking people from accessing the page. Apparently that can be a problem. On the other hand, if Dota was dead, they wouldn't have a Beta in the process to restore custom games to bring back the glory days of Warcraft III. There's a lot of interest in that. I'm making a community geared toward Dota 2 / the new version coming out.

Play a game you can't bot. ooooo
-
That's because only 10 million people can actually play it. @deadlyLazy, look at my signature now and you'll see.

First couple games back at Dota without having internet on my laptop for over a month. 47-1-30 in two games http://imgur.com/Nj8IKvG

It's not the price that bothers me. It's the fact that they have raised the price from $5 to $9.50 and yet they haven't made the game any better. Yes, they add more crap to the game, but they don't enhance it and make it a more sound game.
-
Lol, I hope you're joking. RS3 is a sad excuse for an "upgrade".
-
I think you meant to say the following: I hope with the price increase, they'll get rid of their awful game engine and introduce a new one where graphics can be upgraded (along with all their other outdated crap).

Anyone from the North-East? (USA)

Yeah, we're expecting to be closed tomorrow for sure. I've got 22 credits this semester, so I've got classes everywhere. So, I miss class no matter what, haha. Next year (senior) will be a totally different story though. -
I thought that's what I read, but it's still a bit absurd. Plenty of free games to play which take skill and patience to learn and master.
-
So who's pumped for the price increase? Is this for non-current members or is this for everyone on the start date? Either way, I probably won't be playing.
-
One quick Wiki search, and I don't even want to try to read the history.
-
You probably won't stay with RS long when they change the price to $9.50 a month or whatever it is for the year. I know I'll be playing my other games at that rate. It's quite absurd. But in any case, welcome back. I just came back too.

There's a lot of things that don't really make sense. But it's able to be modeled and proven. There's a lot of bizarre stuff, but it's also pretty cool too. It just defies what you'd think and it pisses you off.

Well, it's a Nor-Easter, so the storm is all thanks to you guys anyway. The storm is going to cover New York, Connecticut, all the way up through Maine. Depending on where you are in Canada, I would assume you'll get a nice covering as well. Looks like St. John is going to get hit by the blizzard, or as some meteorologists are calling it, a Snow Bomb. -

I usually go to bed sometime around midnight when I'm at school. So, I usually get around 6.5-7 hours of sleep if I have an 8am class. Maybe a little longer if my classes start later. On the weekends, I'll get 9-10 hours of sleep if I'm not doing anything. If I'm working, then I try to get 8 hours of sleep a night. Depends on what I have to do, how far I have to drive, etc.

Your life outside Runescape and OSBot?

I'm a junior engineering student (power plants / mechanical essentially) with a 3.95. I'm also starting my minor in business this year and I'm currently in my 2nd of 6 classes for it. I tried creating a web programming club, but with 960 students, there wasn't much interest with the club. So I gave that up. Although I'm a power plant engineering student, I worked a construction engineering co-op this past summer with Kiewit. I worked at a billion dollar project site, and I was the youngest person on site. Made a decent amount of money too. I'm also from the North-east corner of the United States, so I do my fair share of outside activities: fourwheeling, fishing, camping, hunting, etc. I plan to work with a company like GE when I get out, so we'll see what happens. I'm hoping for a co-op with a gas turbine plant this summer to get maintenance and operation experience. And make ~20k this summer too. -
How old are you and what is your gender?

Looks like we have as many aliens as we do women here. -
I don't like how an electron can be put in a box and stay there as long as you're watching it. However, as soon as you look away, it phases out of the box and is gone when you look back. Aggravating.

I find it funny how most people like the rip-off version created from the original DotA game. It's really a joke; my roommate plays it and a bunch of his friends do too. He's tried playing DotA 2, and he's hardcore into gaming. He's said that he's had issues playing it because of the skill required to. So essentially, I get that most people play LoL because they can't handle DotA 2. And the fact of the matter is that most people can't, aside from those who started with the original game.

I'm not quite sure if my name is self-explanatory or if it downgrades me? I guess the confusion is a part of my entity.

Is anyone here from the North Eastern corner of the United States? Or Canada even? If so, are you ready for the 1-3 feet of snow we're supposed to get? It's drinking time, boys.

Project Learn (Development Project, look inside)
BrainDeadGenius replied to BrainDeadGenius's topic in Community Discussion
I do what I do. It'll change a bit once I get my project going though. Since I don't pay for sponsor, so I can only have 1 image. -
Hello! This technically isn't in the right forum as it's an active project; however, I am looking for community commentary on the the idea. I have been debating on what I wanted to do with my website for a while, and I think I have found a pretty good base idea. Essentially, I would have a site where you could browse videos I have uploaded (to youtube, for double exposure). These videos would cover basic math through physics, thermodynamics, and whatever else I can think of or get asked to put up. On top of that, I would have paid tutoring sessions. Unfortunately, I left my drawing tablet at home, so I won't go and get it for probably 2 weeks, and thus this won't truly begin for 2 weeks unless I can sufficiently draw with my mouse. I'm not necessarily building it for this community, but this is one I am in and I'm fairly certain the average age is a bit younger. What do you guys think?
