I believe we have already found Mermaid-like-creatures in the sea. There are such things as aquatic apes, there were once species of apes that swam beneatth water to hunt for there prey, even using weaponry to do so (spears). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqleRxEDwrg I watch a 2 part 3 hour long documentary about this very find and scientists who have found spear tips in the sides of whales,sharks, even giant squids, that no one know how they got there. I truely believe they exist. 2 kids in Washington ran out to the beach one morning. The governemtn had been testing Sonar Weaponry in the ocean (used for jumbling sumbarines radars and other things) and it disoriented the animals in the ocean to beach themselves. Many whales, fish, sharks, mantas, and a Mermaid were washed up on shore. In the clip you see the 2 kids finding the mermaid washed on the beach. It was a truely mesmorizing documentary i watched. Im not sure what you should look up to find it but im sure "Mermaid Documentary" will suffice. If you have that much passion about the ocean, you should check it out. Its amazing. With the Ocean taking up more than 70% of the Planet, and 95% of that is undiscovered, we have no idea. I personally believe there are things deep underneath the ocean where we cannot stand the pressure that could be huge. As far-fetched as it may sound, there are a few theory's that believe some dinosaurs may still exist deep underneath the ocean, if this were the case they would be much bigger than any of the animals we know today.

The Ocean and the secrets it holds is one of my favorite subjects, mankind has only ever discovered 5% of it, but it really gets me thinking as to what else could be fount in the sea, people may look at things such as 'Kraken, Mermaids etc...' and think fiction, but things such as; 50 Foot squids have been found, although mermaids are something completely different. Ignoring mythical creatures other undiscovered land and treasures underneath and atop the seabed are still to be discovered. There are so many possibilities as to what lies in the ocean it's really overwhelming when you research it. There are so many different theory's as to what dwells in the unexplored areas of the great blue. I'd really love to know what people think on the subject and their interpretations/opinions on the matter.
