Still don't get why people share goldfarming methods and ruin the profit for themselves, no logic in it whatsoever. Then again I've never really got the Runescape community as a whole to be honest. Thanks though, this may or may not help someone

Several posts from people who have been banned straight to macro major who were botting simple skills, it seems it's a new banning system.

First time I've seen this type of ban crop up since around 6 months ago.. Jagex are in process of upgrading their botwatch this week, mod matt said. Have had accounts that have lasted months hit today by macroing major, anyone else?

This place gets hit heavy with bans.. like a shit load time after time. Really doesn't help that people go on how great they are lol.

Your chances could be greater being banned on a VPN if anything, due to sharing subnets with RWT sellers and people who bot. But that's just using common sense and may not be true, I personally don't believe in IP flagging due to the fact people using separate private IP's get wiped out on a daily basis and most of the people who even started this IP flagging theory are in fact resellers of a service who can offer you "fresh IP's". Also the fact that if it was just as easy as changing IP's we could stay under the radar? I don't think jagex would make it that easy to be honest. Edit: Forgot to say this is just my knowledge from going through over 600 account since 07 began and a certain bot beginning with W that got shutdown . - My experience was not to do with IP's but rather patterns and being stupid at times.

The ban rates are as bad as ever and it's not a good time at all to gold farm, if that helps.

Jagex are doing a fine job of controlling bot's at the moment. I don't think there's a set ban rate but I've found chaos druids in particular have crazy banwaves lol, I just find it funny how there can be 6 people in taverly at one point then it's empty for like 3 days until the cycle repeats, never seeing those characters names again.

It was made popular around this time, I know that for sure. And yes I was around in those times and if I remember correctly even back then it wasn't as much popular discussion about it as it is now, the thing I am going on about is that a good majority of this "need" for multiple IP addresses on 07 was mostly spread by people who are selling a service for them to offer to you, then word of mouth to the masses did the rest. It is very tough to get legitimate information in the Runescape botting community as a whole to be honest, I see scripts being falsely advertised on the profit it makes, how it is better than its competition, or how one client can do thing's another client can't, or even how a certain script has this magical anti ban that makes it less bannable than others. In the end it's mostly bullshit for personal gain and that's what I was getting at mostly, unfortunately most people fall for it. Honestly, people are looking for all these answers on how to avoid bans, the actual answer is in the short supply of gold and how many people fail in generating a bot farm, including the chinese who are experts at it and treat it as an actual career, which basically equals there really isn't much you can do but pray that you get lucky, because goldfarming in 07 is exactly that, luck, a virtual lottery.

To the above poster, VPS is a terrible idea and advocated by resellers and people trying to make money out of you, Jagex will have no problems tracking down a familiar subnet you are using that has been tossed around and used and abused everywhere on rs (VPS) so have fun with that. This whole IP theory came about mostly on the t**bot forum where a select few members decided to set up shops selling proxies and vpn's/vps's, it is now still on going and if you look around you will see these people still rambling on how it is vital for your protection from Jagex while they have a link in their signature to sell you separate IP's via their service. You need to understand that running any type of farm is getting increasingly difficult and this is the reason gold price has stayed so stable and is even starting to rise lately, there's no magic about it, 07 is solid to farm. You also need to understand that thinking using multiple IP's will not protect you from bans, It only requires extremely simple logic to realise that if it was easy as just changing IP's, there would be MANY successful farmers out there today and there would be many rich members on this forum and others through gold sales. This is not the case, I guess what is even worse is that a rare botter will have a lucky streak of surviving bans for a week or two on multiple IP's and advocate that that was the reason, but what people seem to forget is that the same luck has happened to people on just one IP as well. Take my advice for what you will, I would recommend investing your money in something better or research a ton more.

notsureifsrs I was running a druid farm and barely pulling in 100k/hr, that's with most characters 80-90+ combat and empty to semi empty worlds.

Early 07 - 100m+ 07 a day. Before Jagex implemented botwatch and automatic bans. Now - Varies.. nowhere near my profit before though, any type of gold farming in 07 now is beyond solid, I get good and bad days but generally it is not worth it and I am trying to concentrate on thing's like University with my time and such, due to the fact that making accounts over and over is nothing but manual labour and it's slowly becoming no longer worth the effort to squeeze out very little gold for the time spent.

Just to add to my previous post a little more insight on my part: They track more than IP, trust me. After going through over 600+ accounts now since early wbot was released, IP is just one factor. When you're still getting hit with goldfarming bans with different IP's per account, using vpn's and proxies you start to realise that it runs far deeper than just IP changing. Also for anyone going about changing their IP, please never use a VPN, Jagex are tracking VPN's down and if you use the same subnet as someone else you're gonna get floored as well if you truly believe in IP flagging. Proxies can also be the same, but if I had a choice I would choose proxies over VPN's, HOWEVER.. as I said it runs far deeper than just IP's, there's so many variables that go into it, honestly we will never know and can only speculate, but I see a lot of "don't run 2 accounts per IP" rubbish on this forum and others, there is many people out there botting just one account and a main account at that, that has had a automatic goldfarming ban, I was one of them through testing as well as my brother who had a main and never botted any other account, he lives on his own and uses his own IP. A goldfarming ban is now a loose term for an automatic ban, you don't even have to be goldfarming, it's just the namesake they use when you get hit, it is similar to how blizzard ban with their "exploitative abuse of the economy" bans, when you are actually doing jack all to the economy and doing quests lol. They are just trying to confuse you guys and to be honest from a lot of the posts on here, it seems to be working. TL;DR - A goldfarming ban doesn't have to be goldfarming.
