You need to put the holding down key functionality in a new thread to get the functionality you're aiming for. The press key/release key stuff only sends a single input to the client respectively. typeContinualKey also works but to simulate holding key something like this if what you're looking for

It was supposedly fixed by Patrick in the last update which happened the other week. Guess not...
I have gone ahead and written my own handler and overwritten deaths office. It should work as it used to before his implementation.

I have pushed a fix for this issue. It will not attempt to eat food anymore when using enclave restoration.
I've added a bit to hopefully remedy this issue. I'm confused at how it would have an uncharged amulet considering it should never go on a orb run without one. How often does this occur?
