As much as I hate the game too, it boasts a player base of 20% of all online game players. When you see it like that, doesn't matter if it's a game you dislike, you still have to recognise that millions and millions of people still play this game.

I can make around 1.2m/hour at blast furnace if I'm concentrating making rune bars, can still make a lot of profit with other ores/bars though

Depends what, last time I was cooking, lobbies were only about 8gp profit and I think swordies are a loss most the time because they're the highest level fish F2P players can cook. Karams are probably the best bet for profit if you are going for 99 cook.

Can definitely make 20 dollars with 12 hours work at least, if you got time (like I just happened to have got), then you could make different types of accounts and sell them or offer services. I wanna do some services myself, I'm just deciding what to do :p
