Possible it's being rate limited from too much usage, or the API I'm using is down (it's not my API)

It's working fine at the moment, probably too many people were using it too much.

Note you can't create a path from any position to any other position, and you'll see an error pop up if the path cannot be made.

I think you're right, the issue is the API. I've tried randomly at different times of day and it seems to work about 25% of the time. I wonder if someone is calling it from bots.
