Aloha
What reasoning do you think Jagex is shifting Runescape 3 to using HTML5 and what effects do you think this will have on bots?
Naruto
A bot can be made for just about any, if not every game. Where there is money to be made, that method will be used. Its about time to see runescape use a better engine, while its super delayed and runescape over the course of 10 years should be further than it is, its something at the least. Aloha
Another thing is, could this possibly be the new thing in the Apple store since HTML5 is supported by Apple iOS 6.0+ IIRC. http://www.apple.com/html5/
Kyle1
I think it's possible that they are trying to go mobile.. Or maybe reach different users. HTML5 is just a better thing to use anyways.
Aloha
Here is an image in a display preview of how the graphics differ in both: Java - HTML5 Got it from old Harry.
Bythex
HTML5 introduces new things for Jagex to work with since it is a pretty recent language + they're finally moving away from a client build that has just been update revision after revision lol. You could just imagine how hard it is to work with it now

Jin
I'm just wondering why you'd like your own post, no offence. More approaches to superior features, increase of members and new skills somehow unrelated to RS2. RuneScape is evolving without the questionings of players, which will cause curiosity also resulting to payment of membership. Intelligence is underrated at Jagex.

Intelligence is underrated at Jagex. its the senior dev's look at glass door they have reviews of jagex, past emplyess, and such.. there is a culture war that is always going on between the top dev's and the plain coders.. the chnge i think if to support the mac, and perhaps yeah go mobile.. they seem to love micro transactions. mobile would fit into this catagory.

Bot
The reasoning behind it I think is performance. HTML5 is a pretty recent language like Bythex said and it brings a lot of great web features to the table. RuneScape is a web based game and it makes sense to use a more web orientated platform. Kyle1
I also thing they could be trying to make an app for tablets, and iPads that would make this game playable on the go.
Aloha
From what I hear this is a good move on Jagex's part.
GoldenGates
Idk where, but I heard runescape may be PS3/xBox compatible soon in the future, doubt it though.
