Qubit Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 So when ever I am playing any game, sometimes but always during a gaming session my computer just freezes in the middle of the game and sometimes restarts the computer. Then when It finishes restarted it tell me there was some error and the bsod info and stuff. I have no idea why this is happening.. Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rLGwvK

Has it been over clocked? Sometimes pc users overclock their systems then computer has a fail safe feature which auto shuts it or resets it so the programs that were running previously turns off etc 2

While I don't thick you are going over in the usage of power, sometimes a powersupply may have limits lower than what it is specified as. I would use an application like WhoCrashed http://download.cnet.com/WhoCrashed/3000-2094_4-75205821.html to help you figure out what the error means. It also could be caused by your graphics card or motherboard, but it would really help if you gave us the error message. 2

Sometimes pc users overclock their systems then computer has a fail safe feature which auto shuts it or resets it so the programs that were running previously turns off etc temp stays at a 50c almost all the time.. its not overclocked from what i know
Zikama Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Download AIDA64 and run a stress test for a couple of hours at check if the system is stable or it'll frezze/reset.

This ! 600W power supply for a 6 core intel and a 980 is just way too little. get a new one before it breaks.
The_Red_Flag Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I have an overclocked i5 and a AMD 7950, both of which draw a decent amount of power. I was only able to max it out at like 250 watts intake. However, my power supply may have been defective so we will see what the new one says haha. I would agree, a powersupply upgrade should be in your future, but basic wise it might be fine. It also depends on how many expansion cards, case fans, and hard drives you're also running.
