Large .gif files are a bit too heavy for thread layout, especially for mobile users.

this is why theyre not widely used. If it was only the title, it would have been fine. even for my pc with is i7 16GB ram it takes like 45 secs for it to get used to all the frames of the animation... 

 

but it is an amazing design :)
