Awkward drive thru experience while working..

Featured Replies

So in my college town I work for semi local fast food company. We have a dining room and a drive thru as well. Tonight I was running the drive thru solo near the end of a dinner rush. A lady pulls up to the speaker and orders, it sounds as if she is alone but orders like 15-20 dollars worth of food (not judging. I couldn't care less about how much people eat) when she pulls up to the window to pay I hear a random bark from her car as I am handing her her change, I ask her if she would like a dog treat for her little friend in the back(because I assume the barking is a dog). She begins to stare at me and says with a kind of annoyed voice that the bark was coming from her mentally challenged daughter.... I say "oh...." And walk to my GM's office and say "so.... We are probably gonna get a big complaint" probably one of the most awkward experiences of my life.

Thoughts anyone lol?
