Warning: This guide can minimize the scamming on OSBot, but will not fully stop it!

 
 
How to prevent being scammed
 
  Buying gold

• Always use a MM (MiddleMan). The best MiddleMans's are the staff of OSBot, or trusted members of the community

• Always make enough evidence when you are trading. Are you having a chat with the seller/middleman outside OSBot, on skype for example? Then record the whole conversation. Always record the trade it self as well, to have enough evidence if you are getting scammed. To record things on your computer, you can use programs like Hypercam. More information about this program can be found at the bottom of this guide.

• You should only buy a account that has no recovery questions, no account guardian and no e-mail adress set. If you do buy a account with any of the above called things set, then it is possible that the account you bought will get hacked back to the original owner after a few days.

    Using a service
  • Be sure to have a bank pin set at your account. Only leave t
  • he items that are needed for the service accessable, to minimize the damage on your account if you are getting scammed.
• Give your Runescape account a temporary password. Never use the real password you always use! Also, never give a password that you also use at other accounts, like your OSBot account.
• Always make enough evidence. Are you having a chat with the seller outside OSBot, on skype for example? Then record the whole conversation. To record things on your computer, you can use programs like Hypercam. More information about this program can be found at the bottom of this guide.
•   If you are using a staff member of OSBot as a middleman, you should have no worries about the trade.
      Always be caution if you are using a trusted member as a middleman though, but overall, this should be
    fine as well.
   
  Help I'm scammed!
   
    Are you scammed by a OSBot member? Then please contact a Administrator. Be sure to add enough
    evidence and your side of the story in your message. The Administrator will take any action to the
    scammer if there is enough evidence.
   
  

  Note: We can't give you back any scammed items, but you will help others by reporting a scammer!

If you don't know this basic stuff you deserved to get scammed. Also, Camtasia Studio [cracked] would be the best recorder to use. But I just use image uploaders

Sorry for hurting your feels, but the internet is a cruel world. You should know this stuff before even considering to attempt an online transaction with somebody you don't know.

Nice guide, but I think MM service should have a rank instead off normal people middle manning which can still get scam using your guide and then the scammer can make a new account using a proxy, should be stickied though.

That's right, the staff is still discussing about the market place, how we should handle it.

You guys need to wait for the market to grow, then add market mods, along with a feedback system/vouch thread system and add MM requirements...not that hard. :P
