So I clicked a link (through twitch chat) that brought me what looked like the login for RS3 forums. I didn't enter any information or even click the page. I closed the window through task manager.

 

Now...I shouldn't have to worry, should I?

 

People were telling me that you don't need to enter info/click on the page for it to harm your computer. For example, the link could have been an exe file and started downloading something? I didn't see anything get downloaded.

 

But would something like this happen without my admin permission and my updated Kaspersky?

 

I ask because I'm more naive to this information than I should be. What do you think?

That would have been a Phishing site.  If you didn't enter your information you should be perfectly fine.  Though I would run a full computer virus scan just in case.

Multiple scans with different AV's each time. Some don't detect certain viruses while others do.
