Audio issues on Windows 8.1

Featured Replies

So here's the deal. My microphone and speakers (headphones) work great but as soon as I get into a skype call or connect to teamspeak, my headphones get disabled, here's a .gif.

So I plug my headphones in and it quickly enables and then disables right away. This only happens in skype call or teamspeak and I'm assuming any other VoIP.

Would appreciate some help on this issue as I can't call on skype or join the ts.

Thanks.

Windows assigns a device to be the default communication device, which is where it outputs sounds from VoIP programs. The problem has something to do with this. Which device is your speakers and which is your headphones?

You have power to your speakers correct? I've done this before as well. But IF you can just plug the headphones in your green jack on the back of your tower or whatever you're using just do that instead of going through faulty speakers. Let me know what happens or if I misunderstood what you said.
