Buying New Computer [Couple Questions]

Featured Replies

So, I really do not know much about computer performance or anything. But i am getting a custom built computer and was curious if this is any good. Only use for it would be to play RS 07/ Some servers and record/edit pk videos and such. Nothing like WoW or anything.

Specs :

Core i5-3470 Quad Core CPU

8 GB DDR3 RAM

Gigabte H61M-DS2H Motherboard

1 TB 3.5" SATA lll Hard Drive

LG DVD-RW

Nvidia GT210 1GB PCI-x Video Card ATI Radeon HD7770 1 GB

Windows 7

ATX case w/465 Watts Power Supply

$768 CAD + HST (1.14)

Would this be a fast computer? Not like a gaming computer just a fast decent computer. Which is all im looking for.

That CPU is pretty good. You might as well get a cheaper one because you won't need it's power. Also that graphics card is very bad, you might aswell just use the onboard graphics.

If you want a good value graphics card that can play all modern games on medium-ish settings, I suggest the radeon HD 6850.

Swap:

CPU to Intel Pentium G2120

Motherboard to ASRock B75 Pro3-M Motherboard

GPU to Radeon HD7770 1GB (overclocked)

Know of how much it would cost for one CAD. ?

If this computer was meant to be a gold farming computer you may want to consider getting an AMD drive because they work better for graphic interfacing.

get a radeon hd 6450.... itll be perfect for runescape, HD movies and stuff, possibly some light encoding movies..or running multiple bots other than it you have a fine setup

Or would this computer be a better smarter purchase?

OP i personally think this (link) computer is better for running bots at high performance. i can run about 5-6 or 8 on low cpu.

Computer specs:

And if you added this into on of the graphics cards (link) you could run many more.

Never get a low end card like gforce 210 for any rig. Get at least geforce 640/ 650 or radeon 7750 /7770.

Keep the i5 3470. Dont listen to people saying downgrade to a pentium dual core. That will bottleneck intensive games.

It's a $500-$700 USD build... He's not planning to play intensive games, only RS and stuff.
