why are these method put together?

is it possible to separate the method?

in case this will break other scripts. All i want is a boolean method that return weather the door can be handle

sorry for late reply. Actually that was exactly the screen shot i had in op lol

 

At the time of the request i was looking for a canOpen() method ONLY. Reason being that the methods above will mostly return true if the position is reachable. i wanted a boolean that will tell me when i need to open the door. But i kept fucking around with the other methods in the class and found what i need using 

!handleNextObstacle(position).

 

HandleNextObstacle(position) will handle the door for you. Then it will return false when there isnt a door that needed to be opened. 

 

example of how i used the code

if (outside_area.contains(player) && !handleNextObstacle(pos)) {
     walk(new_area);
}
