Does it seem like merching is easier on OSRS?

Featured Replies

For me, I've turned 400k into 3m in the past 2 and a half days buying basically the same item. It gets boring waiting but it actually works.. but on RS2/EOC merching (flipping or w/e) took a lot longer and didn't show as much profit for me. Anyone else see the same thing?

Btw this is only spending like a couple hours per day buying and selling.

Well this is attributable to two elements, first theres less people so less competition, second theres no G.E so people can sell and buy at any price, only guide we have is zybez but not everyone uses it

theres no G.E so people can sell and buy at any price

This ^ : it allows more flexible margins on some items

And I made around 100M thanks to Zybez (on my main, on which I don't bot, he was 95 crafting in March, and made alot with onyxes to furies back when only 15-20 ppl were able to do it)

what's good to merch out of curiousity =o

Anything that's generally in high demand. Pots, herbs, food, bowstrings, flax, runes, arrows. Just a few that I could that I could think of.

Rares are also good to merch, but a much more volatile market, I wouldn't recommend trying rares if your new to merching. But a lot of money can be made off merching them

I believe that the best way to merch is to choose a "sector of activity" by checking several factors : your budget, the possible profit (look at certain items and remmber/write down the price trend : price ppl buy at, price ppl sell at - you will notice that it usually changes depending on the time of the day as the demand/supply ratio is not stable)

When you get several items you feel confident in (stable prices, but with a little fluctuation), go for it! (it's always best to do multiple items at once)

I know I didn't directly answer your question, but maybe this will help!

I basically did what Jimacus said. But I started with rares. Bought green mask when it was 400k, ended up selling higher. Repeated until I could afford a blue mask when it was 700k. Got the blue mask and turned that into a red h'ween. Turned the red h'ween into a whip and just continue. It's like buy high/sell low, buy high/sell low, move to a better item, repeat.

Another thing, I kinda knew the market of my items. Like ik what times during the day people were more likely to just sell at any price and what times people were willing to wait hours until they sold at the price they wanted. Just watch how the items fluctuate and what you can afford. :)

easier cuz of manipulating

I figured it was because people actually had to sit around and wait to sell their stuff instead of leaving it in G E and going to do something else. Btw Balimia, Zybez has made me 4m up to this point now. Hope I get to where you are!

Eoc is more flipping than merching, there is a difference.

Merchanting: engaging in the purchase and sale of commodities for profit.

:)

But yeah.. by merching I meant buying low, selling high; whether that involves GE or not. Flipping is technically merching anywaysss.
