Runescape is dead?

Featured Replies

Lol, so I just saw this video yesterday, where it said that Jagex made like 76 million dollar profit last year, which I think is pretty impressive. I mean, considering everyone is saying RuneScape is dead or is going to die soon. Gotta be kinda interesting to see how much profit they will make this year, with OSRS added etc.

As long as they add new content to 07 it won't die out. But if they leave it as it is it will.

For EOC, that will not die. They keep updating the game to bigger and "better" graphics and content so that won't die out.

OSRS attracted lots of the old players that have quit.

Their profits will increase dramatically this year.

Personally I don't see runescape dying anytime soon, yes players say that it is because it is changing so much. There will always be an abundance of people finding the game just now and thinking, omg this is amazing.

Another view I believe is that for this generation of runescapers, yes it possibly is dying, but theres all these new children growing up and starting to get involved with runescape so there will always be people playing the game keeping it alive.

No game will be popular forever. Runescape will die one day, world of warcraft will, etc...

Jagex has multiple games. So you will have to remove the salary from all the other games and side earnings to get Runescape's earning. Now compare that earning with when Runescape before it turned EoC.

It is not dead, it has just dramaticley stooped in population.

I think they made quite a few fatally bad decisions.

As 20k players dont seem a lot, i think its enough to enjoy the game - so far i had a lot of fun in 07, and havent had too much trouble finding help / buyers / sellers ingame.

They certainly need to add new content to keep people interested but i hope its not going to involve dragon claws or turmoil... Those two made pking in pre-eoc unfair and money-ruled.

Jagex truly fucked up the marketing on 07, when youre visiting runescape.com, you barely can see a word about old school. It seems that theyre till trying to make eoc happen, its not going to.
