Would it be possible for a system to be setup to allow users external API access to their running clients?

If this is done securely and correctly it will allow the creation of apps and external monitoring/controlling.

The client needs a system to allow users to externally control and and monitor it. This would allow us to develop MOBILE PHONE APPLICATIONS etc

What controls (start / stop / ...) ?

Monitoring in what way (video stream / pictures / status text / ...) ?

 

Try to be specific, which functions do you want exactly ? ^^

Starting, stoping, changing settings/configurations.

Pictures, screenshots and yes, status text.

 

From what I know, scripts can't start another instance of a script, nor can they physically stop and start themselves with different variables like break time.

 

 

I most defiantly agree with your opinion.

I think the devs were working on Mobile Phone support so that you can make applications to track scripts and projects and whatnot.  I'm not sure how that is coming along.  I have seen scripts in the past (on other sites) that have mobile phone support, and allow you to track your progress from your phone and make alterations to the bot and stuff like that.   I would be in support of this, as it would be very helpful to goldfarmers and other people who have other things to do in life.

 

Hopefully this can be implemented soon!

Workaround - start a script, but control the login handler to look for a flag if the bot can run. handle it through a server, make your own protocol
